Booking procedure
A credit card will be required at point of booking to reserve the room and the card may be tested or be used to secure a deposit. The card details may be used in the case of a late cancellation or damage to the property at the Guest House.
Alternatively a cheque or other suitable form of payment can be used prior to guests' stay for the cost of the first day's stay by arrangement.
Cancellation policy
A cancellation of 2 days notice is required prior to the day of the booking for there to be no financial penalty. If cancellation is made later the first day will be charged and possibly for the whole stay (see below).
If during the stay the guest needs to cancel - again we must be notified two days before prior to mid-day with no financial penalty.
If the cancellation is not given with enough warning then at least the first day will be charged but can extend to the whole stay if we have been unable to re let the room.
Our guests are advised to take out travel insurance in case of ill health, injury or any other unforeseen circumstance which may result in cancellation or a shortened stay as the Guest House cannot absorb the cost of cancellation on these grounds.
Liability
Guests' liability for their account is not waived and guests agree to be held personally liable in the event any indicated person, group, company or association fails to pay all or part of any charges incurred.
We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, whether caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the Guest House's property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make the charge on the guest's credit/debit card.
Lost/damaged property
Should any guest lose any belongings during the stay or incur damage to their property, the provisions of the Hotel Proprietories Act 1956 will apply, a copy of which is attached to notice board in Hallway of our Guest House. If we find any lost property we will make every reasonable effort to locate the owner and return it, but if we cannot locate the owner and an item is not reclaimed within 1 month of the guest's departure it will be disposed of by us.
Payment Terms
We do not accept American Express or Diners Club. A charge of 3% is made for credit card payments to cover bank charges and no charge for a debit card payment.
Check in/Out Times
Arrival time is to be agreed at point of booking. No later than 8.00pm arrival unless by prior agreement. If arrival time is exceeded by 2 hours without notification of such it will be assumed you are a no show and the booking price will be taken from your card.
Check-out is by 10.30 am. Any extension to the check out time, either pre-arranged or as a late departure, may incur a charge upon departure.
Luggage
There is no provision for keeping luggage after departure of guest. However if as a gesture of goodwill and without liability we offer to keep your luggage until your return it can only be kept in a common room shared by others and we cannot take any responsibility for its loss or damage.
Smoking
We are a completely smoke free establishment. If a guest has been smoking and caused damage or rendered the room unusable due to smoke smell then we reserve the right to charge the guest on his debit/credit card to make good the room and for any loss of revenue.
